A van has been found abandoned following a crash outside an Irvine pub.
The van was spotted on East Road - though police state they were called to nearby Castle Street - in Irvine, just outside The Turf bar and Little Roma, after smashing into the railings on the adjacent pavement.
The vehicle crashed in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 30, on the busy stretch of road.
It is understood that the person, or people, inside the vehicle fled the scene shortly after crashing and before the police had arrived.
One eyewitness stated that as they walked past the scene, the vehicle's engine was still running and the van's radio was still playing.
It is believed that the crash did not result in any injuries to those in the area at the time - with no other road users affected by the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10 am on Sunday, July 30, 2023, we received a report of a crash involving one vehicle on Castle Street, Irvine. Enquiries are ongoing.”
