AN IRVINE man has confessed to hoarding and sharing sick images of child abuse at his home in the town.

Gordon Thomson, 55, pleaded guilty to three charges of downloading, possessing and distributing the vile images of children from his home in Etive Place.

Thomson admitted taking, permitting to be taken or making indecent images or pseudo pictures of children on various occasions from February 7 and March 30, last year.

He also admitted possessing the images from February 7 to April 1, 2022.

Thomson also admitted a third charge on the Crown's indictment of having distributed or shown the child abuse imagery with others from March 27 and March 29, 2022.

Thomson, represented by defence solicitor Simon Brown, pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week.
