THERE is fun to be had for all the family in Irvine this weekend.

The Scottish Maritime Museum on Irvine Harbourside is getting set to weigh anchor this Saturday (August 12) for another of the award-winning attraction’s popular Pirate Days.

There will be lots of swashbuckling fun for children of all ages, and their families, at the Museum between 11am and 4pm.

After being welcomed aboard by the Museum’s very own pirates, everyone will enjoy a special Pirate Treasure Hunt Trail, face painting and a bouncy pirate ship castle.

But it won't only be the 'pirates of the Maritime Museum' getting dressed up - with all those coming along encouraged to join in.

There will also be fun games around the Museum including Pirate Bingo, as well as ‘make and take’ crafts.

The Pirate Day is included in general admission and up to three children go free with each adult/concession ticket.

The Pirate Day is part of the museum’s summer events programme.
