2. Vegan Earth
This vegan restaurant, in Ayr's Kyle Street, is the second highest rated eatery in the region and the reviews explain why.
The venue has 76 reviews on TripAdvisor, with every single one rating their experience as 'excellent'.
The restaurant caters for breakfast and lunch, with some tasty treats on the menu as well for those with a sweet tooth.
Reviews from customers describe 'phenomenal' food, even from those who are not vegan themselves.
3. Austins
Austins is rated as the number one restaurant in Girvan, thanks to its mix of European and British offerings.
The eatery is in the town's Knockcushan Street and has received over 130 'excellent' reviews on TripAdvisor.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and caters for vegetarian as well as gluten free options.
Reviews on the website include one customer who claimed 'you will not find better'.
4. Motherland Spice
This Indian restaurant in Saltcoats is well-known as one of Ayrshire's best, and comes in at number four on the list.
The Bradshaw Street eatery serves a mix of Indian, Asian and Balti meals, and is vegetarian, halal and gluten free friendly.
The restaurant, which started in 2012, is famous in Scotland for its 'Chicken Tikka Baja' and 'Lamb Tawa' dishes.

This restaurant on Ayr's New Road specialises in Thai and Asian cuisine, and rounds off our top five list in Ayrshire.
The eatery has had a massive 438 'excellent' reviews on TripAdvisor, and has a five star rating on the site.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and is vegetarian friendly with gluten free options.
The food is described as 'wonderful' and 'Thai heaven' by reviewers on the site.
