TWO children were given a warning by police after they were seen riding off-road motorbikes in an anti-social and illegal manner.

Police warned the pair after being called to the Tarryholme development in Irvine following complaints from the public on Sunday, October 1.

In the presence of a parent the youths, a 14-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy, were warned about the anti-social behaviour.

Officer add that the duo were further informed of the legislation allowing police to remove and retain such vehicles should this happen again.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Members of the public have provided feedback regarding concerns of the anti-social behaviour from off-road motorbikes and quads.

"Following complaints on Sunday, October 1, 2023, police attended the Tarryholme development in Irvine - where a 14-year-old female and seven-year-old male were seen riding off-road motorbikes in an anti-social and illegal manner.

"In the presence of a parent, the youths were suitably warned about the anti-social behaviour caused - and further informed of the legislation allowing police to remove and retain such vehicles should this happen again.

"We want to hear your feedback and concerns about your local community and how police can assist."
