AN IRVINE store which has been empty for over a decade is set to re-open this month.

The former Happit store on Irvine's High Street closed over ten years ago - but has been given a new lease of life by an Ayrshire based clothing store.

The Hanger Preloved Clothing Superstore offers a wide ranger of second hand and new clothes - offering big named brands at affordable prices.

The business already has one successful outlet on Ayr's High Street and in July this year, confirmed the move to Irvine.

After months of working tirelessly to get the store up to standard, an official opening date has now been set.

Shoppers will be able to visit Irvine's newest store on Friday, October 13, at 9.30am - with the near-1,000 square metre store packed full of "unbeatable bargains".

The main stock within the shop will be clothes, shoes and accessories for "all ages" though The Hanger will also have a section for bric-a-brac which will be packed full of antique, vintage and modern furniture. For this, it can offer delivery right across Ayrshire.

And it looks like the North Ayrshire expansion is not quite complete just yet.

The Hanger had previously hinted at a move to Saltcoats town, in the former Shoe Zone store on Dockhead Street.

Its latest social media post has confirmed that it will be moving into the town, and they may be on the retail scene sooner rather than later.

Now that work is complete in Irvine, the owners say that they are "working hard to open our new Saltcoats store this year".

So it looks like a welcome boost is coming to the North Ayrshire retail scene - something we are sure that everyone is delighted to see.
