An Irvine sex offender has found himself behind bars after breaching court orders placed upon him.

William Falconer, 38, was placed on the sex offenders register in 2020 after he was caught sending indecent messages and pornographic links to what he thought was a 13-year-old.

At the time Falconer, of Greenside in the Bourtreehill North area of the town, also admitted to attempting to engage them in sexual activity, when he appeared in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

Falconer avoided prison then and was sentenced to a Community Payback Order [CPO] with three years of supervision and a programme requirement to protect the public following his conduct - as well as being placed on the sex offenders register.

But after finding himself back in the dock at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, October 11, he will now be spending a period of time behind bars.

It comes as Facloner admitted to breaching requirements placed upon sex offenders to notify police of any changes to his details.

He failed to comply with said requirement when he failed to to notify police of a new Bank of Scotland debit card for a bank account he held.

This offence was also comitted while he was out on bail granted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in September of this year.

While Falconer also faced two other charges when he appeared before a sheriff at the Ayrshire courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to a further two charges in relation to stealing quantities of alcohol from two Irvine shops.

The offender admitted to first stealing from the Co-op on Caldon Road on February 11, before he targetted Sainsbury's on Ayr Road just over a week later on February 19 of this year.

Following his admissions, Falconer was sentenced to four months imprisonment, which began on October 11.
