Two pensioners in their 80s have been targeted by bogus callers in Ayrshire.
Officers in the Irvine Valley are appealing for witnesses - and urging the public to be vigilant - following the two separate incidents in Newmilns recently.
Between 10.45am and 11.30am on Thursday, November 16, an 88-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman were in their respective home addresses in West Campbell Street.
A man claiming to be there to inspect the water supply gained entry to both properties, however no money was obtained.
The man is described as white, in his 30’s, of slim build, around 5ft 8in tall with black hair which is shaved in at the back and sides.
Anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact 101 with reference number 1191 of 16 November.
