THREE men have been arrested in connection with an incident on Irvine High Street.
Two of the men who were arrested also had to be taken to hospital after becoming injured during the incident on the morning of Tuesday, November 21.
The pair, both aged 48, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment, but were later released.
The two men were later detained by police, along with another man, aged 42.
Locals had stated that part of the Irvine street had been closed off by police - with further reports suggesting that nearby Kirk Vennel was also taped off.
No further details have been revealed on the nature of the incident, and police say their enquiries are continuing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.10am on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, we were called to a report of two injured men on High Street, Irvine.
“Emergency services attended and the men, both aged 48, were taken to University Hospital Crosshouse for treatment and later released.
