A STEWARTON man has been handed a jail sentence after twice raiding the town's Aldi store.
Lee Brodie pleaded guilty to charges in relation to stealing from the Rigg Street supermarket - as well as a further charge of threatening staff at the store.
Brodie, of Kilbride Road, was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week after his admissions to the three offences.
The 36-year-old first stole from the supermarket on October 29 of last year, when he took a quantity of groceries.
That same day, court papers also describe how he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards staff in the store by shout and swearing at them, as well as threatening them with violence.
A further incident of stealing grocery items then took place on March 1 of this year.
Following his guilty pleas, Brodie was sentenced to spend a total of 108 days in prison.
