THE Ayrshire Hospice Lottery has drawn the name of its 1,500th winner.

The Ayrshire Hospice Lottery began in the mid-1990s and has generated more than £18 million in sales since then.

Currently, the lottery has over 13,700 members playing in the draw every week.

Norman McPherson, from Ardrossan, was drawn as the lucky 1,500th winner.

Ron Swanson, Ayrshire Hospice fundraising manager, said: “We’re indebted to our loyal lottery players, collectors, canvassers and volunteers who have given so much to the continued success of the Hospice Lottery.

“Whether it’s seeing a beloved pet, eating a favourite meal or spending quality time with their loved ones, the Hospice Lottery helps to raise over £730,000 each year to help make these vital and poignant moments possible.

“It is through their kindness and generosity that we have been able to care for so many local patients and families.

"A sincere thank you to every one of them for this constant support that is never taken for granted.”

The Ayrshire Hospice operates the weekly lottery draw with 72 prizes up for grabs every Friday. It’s just £1 per week to enter with funds supporting the exceptional care and support delivered to patients and their families across Ayrshire and Arran.

The lottery is an excellent regular source of income for the Ayrshire Hospice that makes a meaningful and heartfelt difference to local patients and their families.
