A Kilwinning mum with a womb shaped like a heart told of her joy after bringing home her newborn twins just in time for Christmas 2008.

Teacher Donna McTaggart, 33, thought babies Sydney and Riley would still be in intensive care after they were delivered by emergency Caesarean section ten weeks early because of problems thought to have been caused by the strange shape of Donna’s womb.

But, bringing the twins home alongside her husband, IT worker husband Neil, 43, Donna beamed: “I have a heart-shaped womb so it’s two hearts for two babies - I think we’re really lucky.”
