Four Ayrshire eateries have been honoured at this year's Scottish Asian Food Awards.

The ceremony was held at Glasgow's Marriott Hotel on Monday, January 8 and saw some of the country's most prominent industry figures come together to celebrate Asian food in Scotland.

Tatsu Restaurant in Irvine was named as Cantonese Restaurant of the Year, with Ruby Seven Days in Ayr being highly commended in the same category.

A spokesperson for Tatsu said: "We would like to thank all the support from all our customers who had contributed to this great achievement tonight at the awards.

"We couldn't have achieved this without you and we will continue to work harder to bring all our customers the best Cantonese food in Irvine."

The Viking Café in Saltcoats was also named as the Takeaway & Home Delivery of the Year award winner in the south west region.

Finally, Mr Basrai’s World Cuisine in Ayr was named as runner up in the Buffet Restaurant of the Year category, behind Glasgow's Booffi World Buffet.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Asian Food Awards 2023 said: “It was another excellent event and we’re proud to be able to shine a spotlight on the trailblazers who enrich our culinary experience every day.
