An Irvine man is awaiting sentence after he assaulted a police officer in the town.
Daniel Cuthbertson pleaded guilty to one charge in relation to the incident when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier this week.
The 34-year-old admitted to assaulting the police constable at an address in Loudon Rigg, in Irvine, on July 20 last year.
Court papers state that Cuthbertson, of Benslie Avenue, seized the officer by the body, pushing and pulling him, as well as repeatedly punching him on the head.
Sentence was deferred following Cuthbertson's guilty plea and he will now return to court at a later date.
He has been granted bail until this time.
