The Irvine Times photographer was invited along as a special guest to meet the youngsters at St Mark’s nursery 10 years ago. The kids from the afternoon class showed off their toys and fun activities.

Irvine Times: Badminton

Pupils from primary schools across Irvine took part in a badminton competition at Greenwood Academy in February 2014.

Irvine Times: Games

An Irvine girl was praised for her hard work promoting the Commonwealth Games. Aimee Alexander had recently completed an HND Coaching and Developing Sport course at Kilmarnock’s Ayrshire College campus and became a Games Ambassador for Glasgow 2014, helping to arrange projects with local primary schools.

Irvine Times: Fire

Dreghorn Fire Station held their annual charity car wash. Officers at the station invited locals to bring their car to be cleaned by firefighters in exchange for a donation. Pictured are Gregor McPherson, Andy Vallance, Mark Logan, Leroy Shaw and Annmarie Higgins.

Irvine Times: Cltydesdale

The Clydesdale Bank’s Irvine branch raised a tremendous £2,000 for the Ayrshire Hospice in 2014. The money was raised from their ongoing book sales in the branch and a coffee morning was held to celebrate the achievement which raised a further £1,011.88. Local cycling hero Graeme Obree even popped by to show his support to the cause.
