ASN kids in the Three Towns and Irvine can look forward to a fantastic Easter filled with free events this year.

The ASN Parents and Kids group for the area have been busy fundraising to allow them to host a number of great events in the area this Easter - and for the coming summer months.

They include an ASN assault course this Friday, March 29 at Dalry Community Sports Club.

The fun will continue with a visit to a Kilmarnock FC match on Saturday, April 10, with tickets kindly donated by the Killie Community.

On Wednesday, April 10, they will be hosting an ASN inflatables party for the kids at Blacklands Ciommunity Centre in Kilwinning from 11am to 1pm.

And finally, there will be two ASN discos held at the newly reopened Metro nightclub in Saltcoats, on Friday, April 12 and Sunday, April 14 from 1-3pm.

The ASN Parents and Kids Irvine and Three Towns group was set up early last year by Amy Johnson and her partner Craig.

Amy said: "At these events, we are successfully supporting over 330 local ASN kids in giving them an ASN specific event and activities to attend during the Easter holidays.

"A change in the family and daily routine can be so triggering to children who have additional or complex needs so we just want to give something to the kids to allow them to be them."

She added: "It was myself and my partner Craig who started this as an online support group on Facebook in January 2023 after struggling for help and support after our son Ollie was diagnosed with autism in 2022.

"Emma and her partner Kenny joined the admin team in June 2023 as we were working together to bring ASN friendly events to our community.

"There is a real lack in ASN activities within the Three Towns and Irvine area, despite us reaching out to local businesses to introduce ASN scheduled times and events, so we decided to do it ourselves.

"We have a Bunkers bingo night planned for April 27 at Ardeer Golf Club which will help us fundraise for events to be hosted over the summer. Myself and Emma work night and day every single day to bring more ASN related events and activities to our community.

"We have even managed to successfully sponsor a local football team - Ardeer Thistle 2016s."

All the events are already fully booked, but to find out more about the group and their coming events, https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089829356839
