ON Saturday The National published a front-page splash headline proclaiming that Humza Yousaf had been “warned” to avoid supporting Ash Regan’s Referendum Bill. Read on and find that this “warning” comes from the proven liar Alistair Carmichael, who in 2015 avoided being ousted from his parliamentary seat following a legal challenge in relation to his lies.

From his past record it appears that this Liberal Democrat will say and do just about anything to block any advance of the cause of independence for Scotland when he sees an opportunity to do so. Having seen little of him in a long time I am not surprised to see him crawling out of the woodwork this week, and I must say that I am disappointed to see The National giving front-page prominence to anything he has to say.

The only reason I would consider it appropriate for this man to appear on the front page of any newspaper would be if the fire service had been called to deal with his pants.
