Corsehill pupils ask the questions during World of Work Week

Afer all, it's usually me asking the questions, not answering them...

But when I was asked to come along to Corsehill Primary School on Wednesday tell the pupils all about the life of a journalist, how could I refuse?

The Kilwinning school's World of Work Week saw pupils meet representatives from various local professions.

And they certainly weren't short of questions for their visitors, as I found out when I met the audience of pupils from P5 to P7.

The Corsehill kids wanted to know all about the famous people I'd interviewed and the big stories I'd worked on.

And while they may have been disappointed I hadn't managed to interview Johnny Depp or Taylor Swift yet, they certainly seemed to enjoy the event.

And the questions kept flowing for a full hour.

The World of Work Week began with visits from PC Meechan, a Scottish Government accountant, a landscape technician and STEM engineers on Monday. The children loved hearing about the different careers and using the drones.

Day two saw Martyn Rae from ASKilwinning talking to the P3s and P4s about his line of work and keeping active.

Jane from QTS then talked pupils through the rail industry, how trains are kept moving and tracks kept clear.

Kieran and Eilidh from Merck took the pupils through a range of STEM activities.

Day three saw Dale Young from Andy Robertson’s Football Academy, Janice McLeod from MBM vets in Kilmarnock and myself visit the school.

Thanks to the pupils and the school staff for making us all feel so welcome.
