A BUSY Irvine road was closed following concern for a person in the area, police have confirmed.
Locals had reported that part of Long Drive had been closed early on Thursday, August 8.
From around 5.30am, commuters making their way to work stated that they were unable to access the area - and that police were in attendance.
It is understood that the road re-opened at around 8am.
Police Scotland have since confirmed that the were called to the area following concern for a person.
A force spokesperson added: "They were traced safely and taken to hospital."
