A VITAL Kilwinning community group have provided an update on their future.
It comes after Choose Kilwinning held a high-stakes meeting following the decision of their chair and vice-chair to step down.
Aaran McDonald and Marlene McGaw stepped down from their respective roles earlier this month, and subsequently a vote had to be held on whether to fold the group.
Choose Kilwinning have played a vital role in the town over a number of years, helping to organise many popular community events.
And following the meeting on Tuesday, August 20, it has now been confirmed that the group will continue - with a new committee to be put in place.
A Choose Kilwinning spokesperson said: "A huge shout out to everyone who joined our last meeting, and a special thanks to Aaran and Marlene for their amazing contributions over the past two years!
"It was such an energising and productive session. We’re thrilled to announce that a new committee will be forming on August 27.
"This is your chance to dive into this fantastic group, take on a role, and help shape your towns community."
Another meeting to form this new committee will take place on Tuesday at 5.30pm at the Kilwinning Bowling Club.
The spokesperson continued: "Once the committee is up and running, we’ll be rolling out all the exciting events coming to our town.
"Don’t miss out on being part of this exciting journey - see you there!"
