Irvine’s Denise Turley, 25, was heading to Barcelona in September 2004 to participate in a European Wrestling Championship. The member of the City of Glasgow Wrestling Club was sponsored by Irvine Clubhouse and is pictured grappling with their manager Lorna Lewis.
The Irvine Historical Tour was finally launched in September 2004 to resurrect the proud history of the Ancient and Royal Burgh. Local councillor Ian Clarkson was behind the idea and is pictured at the launch with dignitaries, including the Marymass Royal Party.
Irvine firm Caledonian Paper sponsored the famous 2004 Land O’Burns Football festival for the third year in a row - and not even the horrendous weather could spoil the fun. Hundreds of budding football stars turned out for the annual contest which saw an attendance of 5,000 people over the three days.
