GOLF club Dundonald Links has been given an extension of its licence to allow extended drinking time seven days a week.
But the club was asked to explain by North Ayrshire Licensing Board why it had applied for five licences during the past five years.
The Women’s Scottish Open venue applied for a variation of premises, ensuring the licence would run to midnight, instead of 11pm seven days a week.
There were no objections to the plans, but board chair Eleanor Collier asked why the club had five licences between 2019 and 2024.
Board members heard that one of the general managers had been travelling up and down from Dumbarton but had transport issues and problems with child care.
Her predecessor had come from a job down south and has been working in a large hotel so found it hard to adapt.
Craig Reekie, general manager since last month, said: “I very much hope to stay. I am local and grew up in Seamill.
“I started my catering career at Dam Park 30 years ago and very much want to be here.”
Board chair Eleanor Collier said: “We would like to see some continuity as it does affect staff training and customer knowledge.”
