AN EVENT full of festive cheer is set to take place at the Dreghorn Community Fire Station this weekend.
Santa Claus will be coming to the village on Sunday, December 15, and will be available for visits from 12.30-5pm.
The drive-thru event is free to attend and all are invited to head along to the fire station to meet Saint Nicholas - though donations are welcomed with the grotto organised in a bid to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity and Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal.
A spokesperson commented: "Any donations big or small would be used for a great cause.
"We won’t ask anyone who is struggling to give what they don’t have but if you are able we would appreciate any donations on the day, as every penny can help."
The event has already benefited from some fantastic support from the local community with Primark in Irvine and Dreghorn's Eglinton Arms bar donated selection boxes ahead of Sunday.
