STEWARTON Initiatives is marking four years of its successful community lottery by increasing the number of prizes on offer.
The lottery started in January 2021 with the aim of raising regular funding for local groups and organisations in the town.
In the years since, more than £41,000 has been handed out to lucky monthly winners.
Community groups have also benefitted from over £12,000 in grant funding to purchase new equipment and much more.
In the past four years, 50 per cent of each monthly pot has gone straight to one lucky winner, with the rest being split between Stewarton Initiatives' community grants pot and the charity’s own projects in the town.
This includes the ongoing costs of the Stewarton Community Hub, which was funded and built in 2024 in the heart of the town.
To celebrate four years of the lottery, second and third prizes are now being introduced every month.
Each first-placed winner will still receive more than £1,000, with a second prize of £100 and a third prize of £50 introduced from January’s draw.
Stewarton Initiatives chair Michael Moore said: “The community lottery has been an overwhelming success since it started back in 2021.
“Over £12,000 has been distributed in funding to local groups, who can apply for up to £750 each year.
“It is great to also see our lucky winners every month take home the cash, and we thank everyone who plays the lottery for taking part.
“These new second and third place prizes will really add an extra element to the lottery, and I would urge anyone who is not signed up to do so now.
“As we all know, you’ve got to be in it to win it!”
Tickets for the lottery cost £5 per month and are set up through a standing order.
