THE Early Years Class boys and girls were learning about the common cold and its symptoms.

They were also having fun building a train set. They learned how humans evolved from monkeys over the years.

But the most exciting thing to happen was… a mini wedding! Congratulations to the happy couple!

This week, the wonderful P1W have got their beanstalk to sprout from the seed after two whole weeks of waiting. They’ve also been learning about the Easter story, that sounds cracking! They have also be doing gymnastics in PE. Finally they’ve been describing their favorite fairy tale characters like Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk    

The Annick Early Years wedding (Image: Annick Primary) This week the fab P2W have been doing some drawings of scarecrows and they have been doing work on money.  Jacob says art is his favorite subject. They have also been doing money math.   

Now we pop over to the splendid P3S, who have been learning about sign language with Miss Gillian. They had their open afternoon on Tuesday morning, and they all had fun with their adults doing Spring activities.

They also made some egg-cellent Easter baskets - hope the Easter bunny comes!

In maths they have been adding coins.

Finally, P3S have been growing sunflowers. The whole class has said, "I love growing sunflowers, although they take a while to grow." Marley says, "I enjoy growing sunflowers, it is one of the most interesting things we have done. The whole class loved it." Overall it sounds like they had a great time. This week the amazing P4WM have been doing problem solving in math sounds mathtastic!  They have also been continuing the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story - it makes me want chocolate! In PE they tried bowling and went outside. Jamie said: "I like all of it!"

They finished off their Greek monsters. Conni's was called Flyer and her powers were to fly and to teleport. They were also making power points about them.

Moving on to maths where they have been learning about financial education and they have had a few visitors in. Last but not least in PE they have been doing some badminton. Sounds fun!

This week the busy P6L have been doing lots of fun things such as hosting their open afternoon. That is where their parents come in and they do lots of fun activities! 

The best man and groom at the Early Years wedding (Image: Annick Primary) Also two different visitors came in for finance fortnight. It was great to hear from people who work in the finance industry. We even had two visitors from Irvine’s Bank of Scotland.

This week, the amazing P7C and P7R have been to Greenwood, which is very exciting for them.

It was very nice to also have visitors from Christians Against Poverty. Their workshops were all about budgeting, very important! P7 pupils have started writing their piece for the yearbook, which is very exciting.
