Easter activities announced by Scottish Maritime Museum

The Irvine Harbourside attraction will welcome families for a range of activities over the Easter school holidays.

The fun will begin on Monday, April 7, and run until Monday, April 21, with activities also taking place over the Easter weekend.

Throughout the school holidays, families can enjoy an Easter Bunny Trail and make-and-take crafts, all included in the museum admission.

Yacht-making drop-in sessions will be held from 2pm to 4pm each Thursday and Friday, where visitors can build their own yacht from recycled materials and sail it across the boating pond.

Over the Easter weekend, April 19 and 20, from 11am to 4pm, there will be an egg hunt, a "guess the name of the dog" competition, make-and-take crafts, and the Easter Bunny Trail.

The Little Sea Monsters craft and storytelling session for under-fives will take place from 10.15am to 11am on Thursdays, and the all-ages paint and gaming Warhammer Club drop-in session will be held from 12pm to 3pm on Saturdays.

A spring market will also be held on April 12 and 13, with more than 40 local artisans and businesses taking part.
