A new outfall in land behind Lainshaw Street is being constructed, with work beginning on Tuesday, April 15 for approximately 10 months.
This will involve installing a new underground chamber and associated pipework and a new headwall into Annick Water.
Access will be from an existing access track just off Kirk Glebe, with a small welfare cabin and store facility on site.
Generators will be required but these will not run during the night with working hours between 8am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
The project is being delivered in parallel to the second phase of another capital investment project to address flooding on David Dale Avenue.
Two separate Scottish Water schemes are also underway at Barbours Park and High Street in other parts of the town.
