A BRAVE Irvine girl got to enjoy "the best day ever" after she was paid a surprise visit from a reality TV star.

Indi Templeton believed she was heading to Glasgow for a day out with her mum Kelly and dad James Gillespie.

However, when the 13-year-old arrived at a city centre restaurant she was met by Love Island series 11 contestant Patsy Field.

It was a meeting arranged following conversations between Indi's mum and Londoner Patsy who flew up to surprise the Irvine girl.

The meeting was particularly special for Indi as both she and the TV star have the same disability - Erb's Palsy.

Indi was left blind in one eye and suffering paralysis down her right side due to complications during her birth.

That and other issues, caused by her difficult entry into the world, left her battling the disability throughout her young life.

Late last year, we shared her heartbreaking story after the teen revealed she had suffered bullying and had even been assaulted because of her disability.

And due to the rarity of Erb's Palsy, Indi has never had the opportunity to meet someone else with the disability previously.

It was when Patsy heard of this, she decided that she wanted to show Indi that "she's not alone".

The former Love Island star has long sought to spread awareness of the condition - particularly after becoming one of the few contestants with a physical disability to appear in the show.

She documented her meeting with Indi on TikTok to help spread the message further.

Patsy commented: “She (Indi) has no idea, it’s a complete surprise. She has the same disability that I have – she’s never meant anyone before that has the same disability.

“People at school are not nice, all because she’s got a disability. It breaks my heart – I just don’t understand where kids get it from.

“All I need to do is go and show her that she’s not alone and she’s got support.”

Patsy also came baring gifts for Indi, including the water bottle she used while on the ITV show.

She also gave the Irvine girl items to use for her dancing competitions - with the sport helping provide strength to overcome her problems.

The teen's dance teacher - Denise Bailey - even got a shoutout for her fantastic work supporting Indi.

Following the surprise meeting, Indi shared her own video expressing just how incredible the experience was for her.

She said: “I had the best day ever. I went to Glasgow with my mum and dad and got the best surprise of my life.

“I got to meet Patsy Field. I am so grateful for all those opportunities, it’s absolutely amazing.

“This is a huge thing for me because I’ve never met someone before that’s got the exact same disability as me. This was a really special day for me."
