THE Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine has announced two new glass workshops next month.
The sessions will run on Saturday, July 12, at the museum's Linthouse on Irvine Harbourside.
Led by glass artist Eilidh Mackenzie, the workshops are open to both beginners and those with some experience.

Eva Bukowska, exhibitions and events officer at the Scottish Maritime Museum, said: "We’re thrilled to partner with glass artist Eilidh Mackenzie once again and invite everyone to take part in two glass workshops – floral roundels and our first workshop creating a tropical underwater landscape which complements our current exhibition, ‘Beneath the Waves'.
"The workshops are perfect for individuals, couples, families and creative teens looking for a special experience.
"Watching glasswork is fascinating but doing it yourself is truly special.

The morning session, from 10am to 1pm, will focus on creating fused glass floral roundels.
Participants will learn to cut and layer both translucent and opaque glass pieces to form vibrant, light-catching floral designs.
The afternoon workshop, running from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, will guide attendees in crafting a tropical underwater landscape using glass.
The session will include techniques for shaping glass into foreground elements and incorporating tropical sea-themed pieces such as millefiori, dichroic glass, and other materials to create scenes filled with fish, corals, and kelp.
Each workshop is limited to 10 participants to ensure safety and a high-quality experience.
Both sessions are open to individuals aged 16 and above.
The floral roundel workshop costs £85, while the underwater landscape session is £120, and both prices include all materials and equipment.
