IRVINE'S Christians Against Poverty team is celebrating its nominations in two categories in this year's Ayrshire Chamber Business Awards.
The Chamber has included CAP Irvine in their nominations for Community Award and Charity of the Year Award sections for 2025.
Community links coordinator Alan Mclaren said: “We opened the Irvine and Three Towns debt centre five years ago.
"Six months later, we opened another centre in Ayr and over the past five years we’ve been able to support 347 people in the Ayrshire area, with 71 households going completely debt free and over £1million of personal debt repaid/written off.
“These nominations mean so much to us and highlight the outstanding work that our local volunteers do.
"The team delivers free, life-changing, face-to-face, personal debt advice, in addition to award-winning financial education through our Money Coaching courses. In 2024 we had over 150 people attend those sessions.
“We know that there are many great charities in Ayrshire, so to make the shortlist is a real honour. These nominations are a tribute to the dedication of our superb team of local folk.”

Representatives of the Irvine team will soon present to a judging panel at the Chamber who will decide which charity will be awarded, with the final results to be revealed at the Chamber Annual Awards Dinner at Ayr Racecourse on October 3.
