IRVINE Beat FM welcomed local Christians Against Poverty member Alan McLean to the studio last week.
Alan joined Eddie Carr on his Friday show to talk about their nominations for the Ayrshire Chamber Business Awards.
The Irvine group is in the running for Charity of the Year and for the Community Award.
It opened the Irvine and Three Towns debt centre five years ago, with another in Ayr following six months later.
During the last half decade, the group has supported 347 people in the Ayrshire area, with 71 households going completely debt free and over £1million of personal debt repaid/written off.
It also delivers free, life-changing, face-to-face, personal debt advice, in addition to award-winning financial education through its Money Coaching courses.
In 2024 the charity saw more than 150 people attend those sessions.
