NORTH Ayrshire Council is seeking residents' views on potential changes to community councils.
At a special meeting last month, councillors agreed to engage with Dreghorn Community Council about possibly merging with Springside Community Council and altering its southern boundary.
The engagement period aims to draft an amended scheme before the next formal stage of the statutory consultation process starts.
This move will also pause stage two of the review process, allowing community councils to hold elections if they wish.
In Irvine, the council plans to discuss whether altering boundaries will affect funding tied to the KA12/old Burgh designation.
The council is also open to keeping boundaries unchanged and considering a unified Irvine Community Council boundary, incorporating the currently defunct Girdle Toll Community Council.
The council is also open to discussing a boundary model used by South and East Ayrshire Councils for Ayr and Kilmarnock, which divides large towns into smaller communities or estates.
Another proposal is to create a Drybridge Community Council, recognising its unique small village status.
This could also help resolve the southern boundary issue for Dreghorn Community Council.
The council is keen to hear from those not currently on community councils, especially in areas where councils are not operational.
Residents have until November 7 to share their views on these proposals.
