A FUNDRAISING rock gig raised £1,400 for a mental health charity after a successful event in North Ayrshire.

The Cornell Collective, which started as a tribute to Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell after his tragic death, raised the grand total for Beautiful Inside and Out - a Scottish registered charity supporting bereaved parents and siblings of suicide victims, set up in honour of 13-year-old schoolgirl Jenna Moriarty.

The band, made up of Jonathan Gray and Simon Togneri on vocals, lead guitarists Paul Boyd and Stewart Bryden, Scott Boyd on Drums and Kif P on bass, thanked everyone on the group's Facebook page for "a monumental night" after the show on Saturday, November 15 at Pitchers in Irvine.

"The total has come in and we've raised £1,400 for Beautiful Inside and Out - SCIO", they said.

"Massive thanks to everyone who came to the gig and to those who donated- your support is unparalleled.

"Another massive thanks to our amazing support bands Landscapes & Landslides and The Claes who both played blistering sets. A final thanks to Pitchers Nightclub for having us."

Beautiful Inside and Out SCIO said: "Absolutely amazing gig last night with these talented, compassionate guys, raising funds for Beautiful Inside and Out SCIO… and what a great crowd.

"Thank you also to the Pitchers Bar/club in Irvine for hosting the gig."
