DREGHORN Musical Society is making final preparations for its Winter/Christmas Concert on Friday, December 12.
Since August, the amateur choir has welcomed 11 new members and has been working hard since to bring a special performance of enchanting choral pieces, modern classics and heartwarming carols.
It's a perfect way to start the Christmas season with lush harmonies and festive favourites, and for this concert, it’s 'all about Rachel'.
Rachel Hyslop is the musical director at Dreghorn Musical Society (DMS), as well as the head of music at Kilmarnock Academy.
She was a valued member of the choir before she took on the role of musical director in August last year.
Rachel brings an enthusiasm for music and singing that is genuinely motivating for the choir, encouraging them to rise to the challenge of singing the songs she has chosen
A true inspiration, and talented singer, the choir asked Rachel to be the soloist at the concert and were delighted when she agreed.
Everyone is looking forward to her performance and they are sure the audience will be in for a real treat.
They say talent runs in families and Rachel’s son Luke will be performing as a musical accompanist as well.
