A DREGHORN charity gig hit all the right notes as an incredible four-figure sum was raised for the Ayrshire Hospice.
Croonfest, held earlier this year at the village's Crown Inn, brought in an impressive £5,400 for the charity, continuing its proud tradition of community generosity and musical spirit.
Organised by Robert Keen and Lorna Thompson, Croonfest brought together a line-up of talented local bands, all of whom donated their time free of charge.
The event, now in its third year, has become a cornerstone of community fundraising in the area with this year’s total adding to previous successes of £4,500 raised in 2024 and £4,200 in 2023.
A majority of which funds raised over the years have been donated to the Hospice, whilst some was channelled into two strategically placed defibrillators for the villages of Dreghorn and Springside.
The event was also generously sponsored by local building contractors Moogal Contracts Ltd, whose support helped make the evening a resounding success.
As well as ticket money, and cash raised on the night, there were impressive additional donations from the Crown Inn clientele, and from a bingo night ran by Lorna.
The event was hosted by Robert Keen himself - under his DJ BobbyK alias - and the band line up comprised the 97, Craig and Julian, Evan Keen, John Atkinson, Sian Clark, and was finished off by the Tabb performing their last ever gig.
As the music fades and the donations are tallied, one thing is clear - Croonfest is more than just a gig, it’s a testament to what happens when a village comes together with heart, harmony, and purpose.
