AS we see off 2025, it’s a great time to consider what the year has brought for us and look forward to 2026.
As I will be stepping down from the position of Cunninghame South MSP in 2026, I find myself reflecting on the near-10 years I have had the privilege and responsibility of that role.
I will enjoy the festive break with family and friends and be well rested and ready to serve for my final three months or so as your representative in our national parliament.
My sincere wish is for a restful, peaceful Christmas and a very happy New Year for all my constituents, young and old.
The festive season should mean putting all your worries aside and embracing joy, laughter and a loving, warm home.
But, I understand only too well that Christmas is not an easy time for everyone, and, as we cherish our own good fortune, I encourage everyone of you to look in on your friends, neighbours and others who you know may be experiencing vulnerability, loneliness and isolation and encourage them to ask for help if they need it.
There is a wealth of organisations that stand ready to assist those in need. If you are stuck, my website has a handy list.
Community spirit here is strong and with so many good folk volunteering their time to improve the lives of others, for them I am really grateful.
