ELVIS fans from across the UK and Ireland will flock to Prestwick to attend an long-established annual celebration which Irvine couple Paul and Linda Downie are helping to organise.
The Elvis Touch Fan Club is organising a birthday bash in honour of what would have been the singer’s 91st birthday.
It is being held on Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 at the Adamton Country House Hotel.
The event also marks what will now be 66 years since Elvis Presley made his only visit to the UK, touching down at nearby Prestwick Airport.
It is believed then Private Presley called his future wife Priscilla from the hotel during his brief visit to refuel his aircraft on his way back from national service.
He shook hands with huge crowds of fans during the brief stopover.
Friday night sees entertainment from Darrel Higham and the Enforcers, with DJ’s Paul Downie and Davie Brown on the decks.
Saturday sees afternoon entertainment from the band The Latest Flames, while Jenson Bloomer and Mondo Carne take centre stage on Saturday night.
Contact Elvis Touch via Facebook for tickets, Paul on 07917 376722 or 01294 285959, or Linda on 07415 031853.
