IRVINE footballer Erin Cuthbert has been named vice-captain of the Scotland Women's National Team.
Head coach Melissa Andreatta announced the decision, which included Caroline Weir being installed as the new team captain, ahead of the upcoming World Cup 2027 qualifiers.
Scotland will launch their bid to make it to the tournament in Brazil next month as they face Luxembourg away and at home - on March 3 and 7 respectively.
The leadership position is yet another milestone in the already impressive career of 27-year-old Cuthbert.
The Ayrshire woman started her time playing as a youngster with local teams Girdle Toll and Crosshouse.
She then went on to join the youth ranks at Rangers, where she made her Scottish Women's Premier League debut in September 2013, then aged just 15.
Cuthbert went on to join Glasgow City at the beginning of 2015, spending nearly two years with the club before making a move south of the border to Chelsea.
Now entering her 10th year with the London side, she has made almost 300 appearances during her time in the English capital, scoring 63 goals along the way.
She has also been a regular with the national team, earning 82 caps to date and getting her name on the scoresheet on 24 occasions since making her debut as a 17-year-old in 2016.
