DEMOLITION work on a former early years building in Stewarton is set to take place during the Easter holidays.

Nether Robertland Primary School confirmed the old ECC building will be demolished over the break.

The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 7, and is expected to be completed on or before Friday, April 17.

Contractor Bardem Ltd will carry out the demolition. Access to the site will be via the Victoria Way and Albert Court entrance during the works.

The building was most recently used by an out-of-school club, but has not been used during school hours since a new ECC was built nearby several years ago.

East Ayrshire Council has said the building is "not required for educational use", and that its demolition will allow for traffic management improvements at the school.
