A TALENTED Ayrshire singer paid a visit to the Irvine Beat FM studio last week.
Prestwick's Debbie Campbell joined Ronnine McGhie to discuss her second album Crimson Horizon, which was launched at the end of last month at the Printhouse in Ayr.
Working alongside long-term collaborators Scott Nicol, Robert Neil and Sam Gallagher, the album comes more than two years after her popular first offering.
Ronnie chatted to Debbie and her partner Robert about her life and musical career.
Ronnie said: "Cracking show tonight. An absolute pleasure to welcomed Debbie and her parrtner Robert to the irvine Beat FM studio.
Debbie said: "I never thought I'd have one album, never mind two. I was turned down by the choir when I was in primary school because I was so shy, so doing this is exciting."
"My first album came out two and a half years ago, and this one is much more upbeat, punkier and edgier.
"There are a couple of songs that Scott Nicol wrote, and I have one cover on the album of a song by Johnny Mac and the Faithful."
Debbie reveals her album has a number of important themes, with one song even teaching some history about the Great Fire of Ayr in 1867, when 29 people lost their lives.
She said: "We felt that nobody knew about this, and we wanted to shine a light on it as part of the album.
"It's quite a nostalgic album but upbeat and there is a real mixture of songs, including one about the time Elvis came to Prestwick Airport."
