THE owner of an Irvine dog grooming salon has won a major gong at the National Pet Awards Scotland.
Denver Johnson, of Dapper Dawgs Grooming, was named Salon Based Dog Groomer of the Year for the whole west/central region at a glitzy event in Glasgow's Marriot Hotel on Saturday, April 18.
The black tie event celebrated professionals in the Scottish pet industry including vets, groomers and many other pet friendly businesses.
Denver was nominated by some of her clients and won the title after a public vote.
She said: "I feel truly honoured and humbled for the recognition to win this award.
"I’m grateful for my clients who nominated me and every person who voted.
"Thank you to everyone who supported and voted, my amazing clients, neighbours, friends, family, the Ayrshire community, my fellow groomers and everyone who cheers me on every day.
"It truly means the world to me."
Denver added: "I would also like to congratulate all the National Pet Awards Scotland finalists and winners.
"It was a brilliant night organised by Gail Murphy and with a superb host in Jane McCarry, best known as Isa from Still Game."
