IRVINE'S Northern Way bar is set to remove its restaurant facilities, but add recorded music and movies to the menu.
Owners Melli Ltd - the Scottish division of Amber Taverns - applied to North Ayrshire Council for a variation of its licence, which was approved at a meeting this week.
An agent for the company told the licensing board: "We have been running the premises since 2023 and this is just a tidy up of the premises licence.
"We are removing the restaurant facilities and adding recorded music and adding films."
They also asked to vary the licence to allow private functions outwith normal hours including parties, ticket-only events and themed nights.
Councillor Matthew McLean asked if the private functions would be upstairs rather than downstairs in the High Street bar, and the agent said this would be the case.
Cllr McLean proposed the amended licence be granted, and the board approved the move.
