VOLUNTEERS from a Stewarton community group have been rolling up their sleeves to brighten up their town.
Thrive, based at John Knox Church, decided to tidy up an underpass in the town's Robertland area following a spate of graffiti.
Assisted by Ayrshire Roads Alliance, the volunteers got to work and painted a couple of fresh coats to remove the graffiti.
The volunteers also renewed a marker seat nearby, which was placed by the Scottish Special Housing Association to mark work starting on the Nether Robertland housing estate in 1971.
Thrive received a grant from Atrium Homes to produce new seat slats, which were created by members of Stewarton Community Shed, with the work led by instructor George Paterson.
Also supporting the work were John O'Connor Landscaping, Lindsay Wilson Builders and Gary Nightingale.
Thrive organiser Peter Anderson said: "Getting involved in projects like these around the town not only benefits individuals but the wider community.
"We know that living in a well looked after environment enhances our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, helping us all to thrive."
