A LIVE 24 hour reading of the works of Goth legend Edgar Allan Poe took place in the Ayrshire Weekly Press HQ in Ardrossan last weekend.
Fans of the author, actors and performers joined in the Doomsday event for the marathon session, which lasted from noon on Saturday until noon on Sunday.
The whole performance was live-streamed on YouTube by organisers Poetic Justice Productions.
The arts company was set up in 2018 to celebrate Poe's time in Irvine as a young child.
Doomsday is an international event, with readings taking place in Baltimore USA, Italy, Brazil and England. It's the second time Poetic Justice have taken part.
Viewers were treated to some intense and dramatic readings of Poe classics such as The Masque of the Red Death, The Black Cat, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Raven and dozens more.
Poetic Justice director - and Ayrshire Weekly Press chief reporter - Neil Smith - said: "It was exhausting... but brilliant.
"We had some wonderful actors and performers head to Ardrossan to take part and they really did justice to Poe's work. Many of the readings were just spellbinding.
"You can still catch the performances on our YouTube channel.
"We had plenty of great readers available throughout Saturday... but it was the core directors, Steven Duffy, Helen Aitken, Jools Walls, Kat Harrison and myself who struggled through the wee small hours.
"I have to say I was pretty tongue tied at times around 6am. But we made it for the second year in a row."
Guest readers during the marathon session included Tyler Collins, Carole Anders, Janette Foggo, Anne Marie Timony, Sarah Gudgeon, Julie Coombe, John McIsaac, Graeme Cobb, David Carnan, Emma Wise, Scott McKinnon and Jamie Adams.
Neil added: "Thanks to all of them for their fantastic work. We'll be back for another Doomsday in May next year. And look out for a number of coming events from Poetic Justice in the months to come..."
