Amazing display of photos from Ayrshire College students

The exhibition transformed the college into a vibrant gallery space, featuring a diverse range of photographic projects that reflected the talent, dedication, and unique perspectives of students from across Ayrshire and beyond.

From documentary photography and architectural studies to creative image-making and contemporary culture, the exhibition highlighted the breadth of skills developed throughout the courses.

Students took a leading role in planning, curating, and presenting the exhibition, demonstrating the professionalism, teamwork, and organisational skills expected within the creative industries.

Their hard work resulted in a highly successful event that attracted visitors from across the region and provided an inspiring showcase of emerging photographic talent.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the annual Ron MacLean Award, which honours the memory of the respected photographer and lecturer.

This year's recipient, Ainsley Taylor from Stevenson, was recognised for her outstanding commitment, determination, and development as a photographer throughout her four years of study.

Having started with little knowledge of photography, Ainsley now regularly photographs live music events at some of Scotland's most prestigious venues, including Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom and OVO Hydro.

The exhibition also celebrated the success of several graduating HND students who will continue their creative journeys at degree level in Glasgow and Edinburgh, demonstrating the strong progression opportunities available through Ayrshire College's photography programmes.

Photography lecturer Kim Simpson said: "The exhibition is always a proud moment for both students and staff.
