THE North Ayrshire Wilds under-16 ice hockey team will take on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis this July as part of an initiative focused on player development and team growth.
The fundraising challenge is being led by team captain Connor Dunlop, assistant captain Nevis Munro, and Bryce Morton, with a further 10 under-16 players also taking part.
They will be supported by players and members from other North Ayrshire Wilds teams, helping to encourage and guide the younger players as they aim to complete the climb together.
The goal of the challenge is to raise funds for the club, with all donations being directly invested into player development, supporting training, progression, and long-term opportunities for young athletes within the club.
The Wilds are keen to raise awareness of the challenge and are extremely grateful for any sponsorship received.
Donations can be made via the QR code on the challenge posters, which are also shared on the NA Wilds Facebook page.
The team will begin their ascent on July 25 at 8am, setting off from the foot of Ben Nevis.
Under-16s team manager John Munro said: “This challenge is a fantastic opportunity to keep a young team connected during the ice hockey off-season, while building resilience, teamwork, and shared achievement — all key aspects of player development.”
