NORTH Ayrshire's Trashcan Sinatra's have released a new single - with an album to follow soon.
The Irvine band's new song Games For The ZX Spectrum came out on Thursday. It's from their new album, Ever The Optimist, which will be released on Friday, July 31.
The Trashcan Sinatras were formed by John Douglas, Francis Reader, Steven Douglas and Paul Livingston in 1986 and they hit the charts with their debut album Cake in 1990.
The same album reached the Scottish album charts again three years ago when it was re-released.
Alluringly easy on the ear, Games For The ZX Spectrum is inspired by the small community of enthusiasts who continue to create games for the long-obsolete console.
Looking at their passions, the band recognised something of themselves: artists continuing to follow their creative instincts regardless of changing fashions, commercial expectations or the passing of time.

Guitarist John is married to Irvine singer Eddie Reader - who just happens to be vocalist John's sister.
On the release of his first solo album three years ago, John told Ayrshire Weekly Press: "I live in Glasgow now, but I'm down in Irvine to see my mum and brother every few weeks.
"The Trashcan Sinatras all lived in or around Irvine - Castlepark, Bourtreehill or the old town itself. I used to live in Hunter Drive.
"The band has lasted such a long time - and we're still going strong, even though two members now live in America."
