The exit poll predicts the SNP to surge and Conservatives to secure a majority in Westminster.
This could mean Ayrshire would have four SNP MPs, losing its only Conservative seat in Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock.
It is expected that the SNP will win a total of 55 seats, an increase of 20 from the 2017 General Election.
The Conservatives are expected to increase their total by 50 to 368, well beyond the required number to form a majority government.
The poll suggests Labour will suffer a major loss, losing 71 MPs, reducing their total to 191.
The Liberal Democrats should gain a single seat overall, but leader Jo Swinson may lose her East Dunbartonshire seat.
The exit poll asks voters to fill in a mock ballot as they leave their polling station to indicate how they have voted.
It is conducted by Ipsos Mori at 144 polling stations throughout the UK making use of 22,790 interviews.
The sample size for Scotland is smaller and so experts suggest the poll is less accurate.
