A YOUNG man has appeared in court after six teenagers were taken to hospital over the weekend.
The 17-year-old was detained by police and charged in connection with an alleged drugs supply offence, with a report submitted by Irvine police to the Procurator Fiscal.
The arrest follows six 13-year-olds being treated at Crosshouse Hospital on Saturday evening after allegedly taking ecstasy.
The 17-year-old, who we can't name for legal reasons, made no plea or declaration when he appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, February 26.
He faced a charge of allegedly being involved in the supply of illegal substances in contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 Section 4(3)(A).
The teenager was committed for further examination and released on bail.
He will return to the same court at a later date.
