THE children’s ward at University Hospital Crosshouse received a generous donation from two former young patients.
Ten-year-old Zac Murray, from Irvine, and four-year-old Leon McNaughton, from Kilbirnie both received treatment at the children’s ward for ‘club foot’.
Together with friends and family, they organised a sponsored walk to raise awareness of the condition.
The group managed to clock up a collective 128 miles and were overwhelmed by the generosity and support of everyone that sponsored them.
They decided they wanted to use the money to donate items including televisions and Playstations to the ward after they received treatment there.
Fiona Scott, Senior Charge Nurse for the ward, said: “We are absolutely delighted and touched by these kind donations.
“We would like to extend a huge thanks to Leon and Zac, along with their friends and family for going the extra miles so that youngsters in the ward can enjoy their gifts.”
